St. James has been a worshipping and community presence in the Alexandria and CENLA region (Central Louisiana) since 1844. Click on one of the links to the right to learn more about us, from our lay leadership, to our staff, and a bit about our history.
No matter who you are or where you find yourself in life, no matter your thoughts about God or church, your past church background or lack of, please be assured that you are welcome here. As a community of faith doing our best to live as Jesus' disciples, we do many things together, gathering for worship and the Eucharist, Christian education or formation for all ages, fellowship, to engaging the world with the love of Jesus through loving our neighbor in outreach or ministry to others.
All that we are and do as a community is offered in worship of our Creator and in service to our neighbor. We don't get it right all the time, but we gather constantly and intentionally as a practice to learn and support each other in our desire to be Jesus' disciples and show God's love.
If you are visiting this site or thinking of joining us one Sunday - welcome!
