The Daily Office
|
The Daily Office is a structured form of daily prayer found in our Book of Common Prayer, rooted in the tradition of Christian monks and now accessible to laypeople, praying the Offices involves the reading of scripture, prayer, and singing hymns and/or psalms four times each day: Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline.
At St. James, we gather online for Evening Prayer every Sunday at 5:00pm; however, The Episcopal Church provides many resources for praying the Daily Office on your own each day, including publications and podcasts through Forward Movement, one of the many publishers for The Episcopal Church. |
